PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains what information avogames, a game publisher based in Lithuania ("avogames", "we", "us"), collects when you visit https://avogames.com and play the games published there (the "Site"), why we collect it and how we use it. 1. INFORMATION YOU GIVE US

  • Account information. When you create an account: your email address, username and password (stored only as a one-way hash, never in readable form).
  • Google and Steam sign-in. If you sign in with Google or Steam, we receive your account identifier from them and, from Google, your email address.
  • Guest play. You can play without an account. We then create a guest account identified by a random id stored in your browser.
  • Game data. Your progress, items, scores and other in-game data.
  • Chat. Messages you write in the chat are stored and shown to other players.
  • Purchases. When you buy credits, payment is handled by Stripe. We receive the result of the payment and its amount; we never see or store your card details.
  • Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the correspondence to answer you.

2. INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

  • Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, date and time of visits.
  • Approximate location: your country, determined from your IP address, used to show the Site in your language and to decide whether analytics may run (see section 4).
  • Play statistics: when a game is opened and how long it is played, used to measure and improve the games.
  • Security: request patterns used to detect bots, abuse and attacks.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

  • To run your account and the games (performance of our contract with you).
  • To process purchases and keep records required by tax and accounting law (legal obligation).
  • To keep the Site secure, prevent fraud and abuse, and moderate chat (legitimate interest).
  • To produce statistics that help us improve the Site and the games (legitimate interest).
  • To send emails you ask for, such as password resets.
We do not sell your personal data and we do not show personalised advertising.

4. COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

  • Session cookie (strictly necessary): keeps you signed in. Deleted when the session ends.
  • avo_locale cookie (functional): remembers the language you picked or are reading. Kept for 1 year.
  • avogames_guest_id in your browser's local storage (functional): lets you keep playing as the same guest. Kept until you clear your browser data.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*): used to measure visits and how players find the Site. Google Analytics is only loaded for visitors outside the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Visitors from those countries, or whose country cannot be determined, are not tracked by Google Analytics and get no analytics cookies.
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the Site may then not keep you signed in.

5. WHO WE SHARE DATA WITH

  • Hosting provider: our servers and database, located in the European Union.
  • Stripe: payment processing (privacy policy).
  • Google: sign-in with Google, and Google Analytics for visitors outside the EU/EEA/UK/Switzerland (privacy policy).
  • Valve (Steam): sign-in with Steam (privacy policy).
  • Email delivery providers: to send the emails you request.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it.
Some of these providers process data outside the EU; where they do, the transfer is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision.

6. GAMES AND PARTNER SITES

Games run inside a frame on the Site. Games published by avogames follow this Policy. A game from another publisher, and any site you open through a link, is run by that publisher under its own privacy policy. When you play an avogames game on another portal (for example Kongregate or CrazyGames), that portal's privacy policy also applies.

7. RETENTION

We keep account and game data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account (in the account menu, or by emailing us), we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records we must keep for tax, accounting or legal reasons. Technical logs are kept for a limited time for security. Google Analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.

8. CHILDREN

The Site is not intended for persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe we hold information about a minor, contact us and we will delete it.

9. SECURITY

We protect your data with technical and organisational measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed passwords. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw any consent you gave. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority; in Lithuania this is the State Data Protection Inspectorate (Valstybinė duomenų apsaugos inspekcija, vdai.lrv.lt).

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed; significant changes will be announced on the Site.
